The Mid-Florida Milers Walking Club promotes recreational walking for fun, fitness and friendship.
They will host a walk in Orlando on Saturday, September 29, 2018. The Start/Finish will be at the Beardall Senior Center, 800 Delaney Ave., Orlando FL 32801. Register for the walks 9:00-9:30am.
Choose a distance – 5K (3.1 miles) or 10K (6.2 miles). The walks are on downtown and residential sidewalks and will include historic downtown Orlando, Lake Eola, art projects downtown, and the County Courthouse. The large fountain in Lake Eola was refurbished in 2011.
Pets are allowed. Always carry water.
The fee is $3. Minors under 13 may walk for free unless they are walking for IVV/AVA credit.
The walk is sanctioned by the American Volkssport Association and is open to the public. Walkers are given a guide with detailed written instructions and are welcome to walk with a group, a companion, or by themselves.

The Mid-Florida Milers have been members of the American Volkssport Association for 29 years. “Volkssport” means “people-sports.” The walks are non-competitive and follow pre-determined routes, making them an excellent activity for the whole family. The events encourage physical activity and appreciation of the outdoors.
They are designed for people of all ages and levels of physical fitness.
